The research consortium on “Breaking the vicious circle between Poverty and Ill-health”, held a kick-off workshop on 13 and 14 May 2015 in Nairobi, Kenya. Eight consortium members from different organisations attended. The kick-off meeting aimed to familiarise all partners with the project – its planning, the expected output and its goals – and to meet all consortium partners. The project is led by Prof. Nicky Pouw (University of Amsterdam) and Prof. Katja Bender (University of Applied Science Bonn-Rhein-Sieg), who also convenes the EADI Social Protection Working Group. The research aims at developing new strategic knowledge on the effectiveness of cash transfer programs and social health protection policies in Ghana and Kenya.
