INCLUDE Knowledge Platform, in partnership with the African Group of Negotiators (AGN), AU ECOSOCC, and ECOWAS, has opened applications for six Thematic Analyst positions to support the African Climate Negotiations Situation Room during COP31 in Antalya, Türkiye.
The recruitment forms part of a broader initiative aimed at strengthening Africa’s negotiating capacity through timely intelligence, technical analysis, and evidence-based decision support. The Situation Room will operate throughout COP31, providing negotiators with live monitoring of negotiation texts, analytical briefings, and coordinated intelligence across key thematic areas.
One analyst will be appointed in each of the following priority areas:
- Loss and Damage
- Climate Finance (particularly Adaptation Finance)
- Mitigation and Fossil Fuel Transition
- Article 6 Carbon Markets
- Technology Transfer
- Just Transition
Successful applicants will work closely with the Chief Analyst and the African Group of Negotiators to monitor negotiations, analyse emerging negotiating texts, maintain thematic position maps, and prepare rapid policy briefs that support African delegates during negotiations. In addition to their deployment at COP31 from 9–20 November 2026, analysts will contribute to preparatory activities beginning in August and participate in post-conference reporting and evaluation.
Applicants should have demonstrated expertise in one of the six thematic areas, experience supporting or participating in UNFCCC negotiations, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to produce concise, decision-ready analysis under pressure. Previous COP experience and familiarity with the African Group of Negotiators’ coordination processes will be considered an advantage.
The positions are offered as fixed-term consultancies from August to December 2026. Selected analysts will work remotely during the preparation phase before being deployed full-time to Antalya for the duration of the conference.
