On 9 July, NWO-WOTRO together with the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), launched a second call for proposals in the research programme ‘New roles of CSOs for Inclusive Development’. Also for this new call, INCLUDE will facilitate the knowledge brokering trajectory
The research programme ‘New roles of CSOs for Inclusive Development’ aims to fund research projects that strengthen the evidence-base of the policy framework Dialogue and Dissent. The knowledge gathered from the newly funded research projects will be accessible, and applicable to policymakers and CSOs in the Netherlands and Low and Lower Middle Income Countries (LLMICs). Six research projects are currently ongoing. This second call focuses on the third theme ‘CSOs in an enabling environment’. Researchers will investigate the assumptions of the Theory of change (Toc) underlying the policy framework by using (mostly) qualitative scientific methods. This funding call is open for a consortia of research organizations located in LLMICs in Sub-Saharan Africa, South and South-East Asia or Latin America, where the empirical component of the research project/programme will be implemented. Projects should have a comparative aspect between at least two countries and countries studied in projects funded in the first call are not eligible (Ethiopia, India, Kenya, Ukraine). The research projects will have a relatively brief duration (maximum 9 months).
The deadline for submission is 4 September 2018. Read more on the second call for proposals and how to apply on the NWO-WOTRO website. Research updates will be regularly published on the INCLUDE website
