Winnie Sambu is currently a Knowledge Management Consultant at the African Economic Research Consortium. She has over 7 years’ experience in research on socio-economic issues affecting households, including poverty, inequality, and food security. Her expertise is mainly on quantitative research and she has worked with large household survey datasets from across sub-Saharan Africa including from Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, and Zambia. Winnie has a master’s degree in Economics (Development) from the University of the Western Cape (South Africa) and a master’s degree in Development Management from Ruhr-Universität Bochum (Germany/South Africa). In addition to her work at AERC, she is currently undertaking her PhD research at the School of Economics at the University of Cape Town.
