Rob Bijl is a sociologist and Director of the Netherlands Institute for Social Research (SCP), which conducts research into the social aspects of all areas of government policy. He is also former INCLUDE platform member. From 2001 to 2005, Rob was head of the research department on migration and integration at the Ministry of Justice. He has published on monitoring processes of migrant integration and continues to be involved in European research projects. He has been active in psychiatric epidemiological research, and published internationally on the relationships between mental health and quality of life, the labour market, and the need for care. Alongside his SCP work, his other positions include membership of the supervisory boards of a mental health organization, a social work organization and an educational institute.
