Peter van Bergeijk

Peter has a been a chief economist at both public and private institutions, and has a broad academic background. He is currently also Professor of International Economics and Macroeconomics at the Institute of Social Studies.

Peter has been chief economist at the Dutch central bank, the Dutch competition authority and the Ministry of Economic Affairs and in these capacities worked with the OECD’s WP1-Bureau, served on several EU committees, including the Monetary Committee, and participated in the Chief Competition Economists Network. Previously, he worked as an economist and director in commercial banking (ABN, the Netherlands and UBS, Switzerland). Peter has a PhD from Groningen University and was Professor of Monetary Policy at the University of Zurich and of Economic Policy at Erasmus University Rotterdam. Peter is a former Knowledge Manager at the INCLUDE Secretariat.
