Obadia is a Knowledge Manager at the INCLUDE Secretariat. He is also an assistant knowledge manager at the African Economic Research Consortium (AERC). Obadia’s research interest is the interplay between development theories and practices, especially how development interventions are adapted by actors, contexts in which this occurs and their outcomes. He holds Master of Arts and PhD degrees both in development studies. His PhD thesis applied realist synthesis to explain long run outcomes of a dairy intervention, which was implemented in Kenya between 1980 and 1996. Obadia has worked at the Institute for Development Studies, University of Nairobi, and conducted research on how information and communication technologies contribute to poverty reduction, participatory development, outcomes of coffee value chain interventions in East Africa and impacts of labour standards in cutflower farms in Kenya and Tanzania.
