Martine Rutten is a development economist, working at the bureau for international cooperation (BIS) within the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She is responsible for analyses of developments in poverty, inequality and their implications for development cooperation and coordinates knowledge policy for development cooperation. She also leads policy on policy coherence for development in relation to the Sustainable Development Goals. Martine has a strong background in research and has a wide variety of publications on topics such as health economics, migration, agriculture and trade, food and nutrition security and food waste.
