Kacana Sipangule is a PhD candidate in economics at the University of Goettingen, Germany, and a research fellow at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy. Here, she also coordinates the Poverty Reduction Equity and Growth Network (PEGNet). Previously, she worked as a research fellow at the German Institute of Global and Area Studies (GIGA). Her doctoral research is on agricultural transformation and poverty reduction in Africa. She holds a Master of Economics from the Free University of Amsterdam and Bachelor of Arts in Development Studies and Economics from the University of Zambia.
