David Robalino is the Manager of the Jobs Cross-Cutting Group at the World Bank. An Ecuadorian National, he joined the Bank in 1999 as a Young Professional. He has worked on issues related to labor markets, youth employment, social insurance and fiscal policy and has published widely on these topics. Robalino has worked in several countries in Latin America, the Middle East and North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, and Asia. His most recent assignment was as Lead Economist and Leader of the Labor and Youth Team. He was a co-leader of the Jobs Knowledge Platform, a partnership facilitating the exchange of data and findings on expanding job opportunities in developing countries. He also serves as co-Director of the Employment and Development Program at IZA – the Institute for the Study of the Labor. Prior to joining the Bank David was a researcher at the RAND Corporation.
