Bereket Tsegay

Bereket Tsegay is Interim Director and Senior Researcher at the UK and Horn of Africa based Pastoral and Environmental Network in the Horn of Africa (PENHA), a non-profit research  institute. A PhD Researcher in Development Studies at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London, his work addresses ‘Green Economy’ issues in Sub-Saharan Africa. Having earned an MA in Public Policy and Management from the University of Potsdam, his research has focused on policy analysis, encompassing natural resource governance, food security, pastoralism, the dynamics of institutions in development, climate change, resilience and the green economy, risk management as well as social protection. Tsegay has worked as a researcher and grant administrator for the NWO funded Social Protection for Inclusive Development in Afar Region of Ethiopia (SPIDA) research project.
