The World Bank recently published their report ‘Accelerating Poverty Reduction in Africa‘. INCLUDE and the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs are co-organizing a meeting to discuss this report and its findings, hosted by the authors Luc Christiaensen and Kathleen Beegle, on 22 November in The Hague.

The report contains an in-depth analysis of the democratic, societal and political drivers of poverty in Africa, with specific attention for social and spatial equity. It looks beyond macro-economics and growth only, and sets out a pro-poor agenda with integrated approaches to reduce poverty further.

Authors Katherine Beegle and Luc Christiaensen shall present the report, followed by an interactive panel discussion. Kitty van der Heijden, Director General of International Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs shall receive the report.
