George Mukundi Wachira is CEO of the Maendeleo Group and Adjunct Professor of Public Law, Faculty of Law, University of Cape Town. He was the founding head of the African Governance Architecture (AGA) Secretariat, Department of Political Affairs, African Union (AU) Commission (2012-16), and has over 15 years experience and expertise in the public sector and multilateral policy development, implementation, negotiation and team leadership, with in-country experiences in Kenya, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Egypt, Uganda, Ethiopia, Senegal, Nigeria and the Gambia. He is also a member of the African Leadership Network, and a member of the Steering Group Knowledge Platform, Security & Rule of Law (KPSRL), Ministry of Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation, Netherlands.
