The ASC Library in collaboration with INCLUDE has offered the possibility to sign up for alerts on Social Protection (SP) and Productive Employment (PE) for some time. The alert service informs you when new publications become available from the ASC library catalogue, ASC online publications and other academic publications from the Connecting-Africa database.
More specific online resources have been added recently from the Worldbank OKR social protection and labor (PE), Poverty action lab youth employment (PE), Poverty action lab SME (PE), Poverty action lab insurance (SP), Poverty action lab cash transfers (SP), GSDRC Social Protection (SP), Protection to production FAO (PE & SP), and Social Protection Network resources (PE & SP).
For example, recent alerts on Productive Employment identified publications on the role of small businesses in poverty alleviation in Tanzania; a panel data analysis on health status and labour force participation in Sub-Saharan Africa; and an ILO study on Rethinking youth employment coordination in East Africa.
Recent social protection alerts revealed publications on the impact of private sector internships and training on urban youth in Kenya; the implementation of social protection programmes in Ghana; and an FAO impact evaluation of social cash transfer programmes in Zambia.
