To inform and influence policies and programmes on employment creation in Kenya, the Partnership for African Social and Governance Research (PASGR) has established Utafiti Sera, a research-policy community of practice on agro-processing employment. Supported by INCLUDE, Utafiti Sera brings together policy actors, practitioners and researchers to discuss and come up with policies and actions needed to achieve inclusive development through employment creation in the country. Employment creation remains an important policy objective because of few jobs available in the formal sector despite enthusiasm about the benefits of consistent growth recorded in some countries in Africa. One of the initial activities of this initiative is mapping of key stakeholders in employment creation and inclusive growth in agro-processing sectors.
The mapping report shows the institutions and individuals who were identified for involvement in the Utafiti Sera forum. It also shows their potential interest, motivation, power and capacity to influence employment creation policies and programmes in agriculture and agro-processing in the context of inclusive growth in Kenya.
