Anika is currently working on her PhD with the Amsterdam Institute for Social Sciences Research (University of Amsterdam) and the African Studies Centre (University of Leiden). The aim is to discover how to successfully target the ultra poor in poverty-alleviation initiatives. Her research is being carried out in Bangladesh, Benin and Ethiopia. Prior to working on her PhD, Anika completed her Master’s degree in International Development Studies at the University of Amsterdam. She has conducted fieldwork and research in Kenya, South Africa, Ghana, Burkina Faso and Pakistan. She is a member of the PADev research team.
